City Manager

Appointed as City Manager of Satellite Beach in July 2024, Brittany Retherford brings a wealth of experience and a strong background in financial management to her role. Brittany’s journey with the City of Satellite Beach began in June 2017 when she joined as the City’s Comptroller. Her dedication and skill led to her promotion to Support Services Director in January 2019 and then to Assistant City Manager in 2022, prior to her current appointment.

Before her tenure at Satellite Beach, Brittany served as an accountant for the City of Cape Canaveral. Her career began in the private sector as an Accounting Associate in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Growing up in Central Illinois, Brittany was inspired to pursue a career in government service by her father, who served as the Mayor of Brittany’s hometown.

Brittany holds a Master of Public Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Business Administration from MacMurray College in Illinois. Her commitment to public service is further evidenced by her active involvement with the Space Coast League of Cities, where she previously served as assistant treasurer, and her graduation from LEAD Brevard in 2022.

Outside of her professional life, Brittany enjoys spending time with her fourteen nieces and nephews, being a dog Mom to Luke, reading, and traveling with her husband, Brandon.
