Jackson Avenue Project Update
IMPORTANT TRAFFIC NOTICE – JACKSON AVENUE CLOSURE
As part of the City of Satellite Beach's ongoing infrastructure improvement projects, Jackson Avenue will continue to be temporarily closed beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, and is expected to remain closed for approximately 10 weeks.
Closure Details
Jackson Avenue will be closed between Avocado Street and Orange Street.
During this closure:
• Access from South Patrick Drive onto Jackson Avenue will reopen on July 6, 2026.
• Traffic will be able to travel westbound on Jackson Avenue from Avocado Street to South Patrick Drive.
• Traffic will be able to travel eastbound on Jackson Avenue from Orange Street to A1A.
• Access to Stinger Lane from Jackson Avenue will not be available.
• The western entrance to Holland Court will remain accessible.
Construction will progress from west to east, and as soon as it is safe to do so, the eastern entrance to Holland Court from Jackson Avenue will be reopened. Businesses located along the south side of Jackson Avenue will remain accessible throughout construction. Holland Elementary School, DeLaura Middle School, and Satellite High School will also remain accessible when students and faculty return for the new school year.
Our contractor understands the challenges associated with this temporary closure and is committed to completing the work as efficiently as possible while maintaining a safe work environment. City staff will continue coordinating directly with affected businesses and the schools throughout the project to help minimize impacts.
The City and contractor are also developing comprehensive traffic and pedestrian safety plans for students, parents, school staff, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. We recognize this will be a significant and lengthy closure and ensuring the safety of everyone traveling through the area remains our highest priority.
Stay Informed
A traffic map and visual detour guide showing access points and alternate routes will be posted before the closure on the City's website, the City's social media platforms, the Mighty App, and other City communication channels. Regular project updates will also be provided throughout construction.
We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we complete these important infrastructure improvements that will benefit our community for years to come.
