Interim Chief Brad Hodge has proudly served the Satellite Beach Police Department since March 12, 1989, rising through the ranks to his current role as Interim Chief of Police. He leads a department of 25 sworn officers and 10 support staff, with oversight of all aspects of operations, including the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Records Division, Evidence Division, Administrative Support, department policy, budgeting, and volunteer programs.

Throughout his distinguished career, Interim Chief Hodge has held numerous positions within the agency, including Field Training Officer, Detective, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Commander, and Deputy Chief. His broad experience and leadership have helped shape the department into a modern, community-focused agency.

A proud graduate of Satellite High School, Interim Chief Hodge’s roots run deep in the City of Satellite Beach, the very community he now serves. He continued his education at the Santa Fe Institute of Public Safety in Gainesville, Florida, where he graduated top of his class and earned his law enforcement certification. He also pursued studies in Public Administration at the University of Central Florida and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy’s prestigious 218th session.

Interim Chief Hodge’s commitment to excellence has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including being named Satellite Beach Officer of the Year twice, Brevard County Officer of the Year, and City of Satellite Beach Employee of the Year in both 2006 and 2013.
