The City of Satellite Beach Recreation Department's Volunteer Involvement Program connects citizens to the city through community engagement.

We coordinate efforts with local public and private schools, civic organizations, and the community to allow volunteer participation in a variety of city-sponsored events, camps, and programs. The City of Satellite Beach prides itself on our long history of citizen volunteers. Our founder, Percy Hedgecock, stated that “this community was built on the backs of citizen volunteers.”

Satellite Beach students and adults are encouraged to invest time in their community.

We are thrilled to offer a variety of ongoing volunteer opportunities throughout the city. Your time and effort can make a significant impact, and we can't wait to work with you!

Seasonal Camps and Classes:
Join us for our seasonal camps during Spring Break, Summer, and Winter Break. Volunteers are essential for set-up, tear-down, sign-in, cleanup, and assisting campers with activities and crafts. Some programs may also require prep work before the start of the program. Your help ensures a fun and smooth experience for all campers!

Special Events:
Be part of the excitement at our special events throughout the year! From Golf Cart Parades to Flashlight Easter Egg Hunts, Breakfast with the Bunny, Samsons Island Open House, Hook Kids on Fishing, Founder’s Day, Holiday Open House, and more, there's always something happening. Volunteers play a crucial role in making these events memorable.

Beach & Community Cleanups:
Join the Satellite Beach Sustainability and Beautification Boards in keeping our community beautiful. Opportunities include beach cleanups, Samsons Island workdays, community garden assistance, native plantings, and much more. Your efforts help preserve our natural spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Special Projects:
Do you have unique skills like photography, video, or crafts? We have special projects that could use your expertise. Reach out to us for more information and see how you can contribute your talents.

Group and Corporate Opportunities:
Looking for a team-building activity that gives back to the community? We offer special projects for groups on Samsons Island, in our Gopher Tortoise Conservation area, and across our parks and beaches. Contact our volunteer coordinator to find the perfect project for your team. Together, we can make a positive impact!
