Records Division

The Records Department is responsible for maintaining all incident reports including crime reports, accident reports, citations, arrest files and Uniform Crime Statistics.

All public records requests will be processed in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. Records will be released as permitted by law, provided the information is deemed public under applicable statutes. Records related to open cases OR cases with pending charges are not available for public release and can only be requested through the State Attorney’s Office.

 

·        Copies of case reports are typically available 4 - 5 days following the incident

·        Vehicle Accident Reports are considered confidential for the first 60 days and are only able to be released to person(s) involved and/or their legal representatives and insurance agents.     

·        During the first 60 days, a HSMV Form 94010 -Sworn Statement for Crash Report must be completed, notarized and returned to the Records@satellitebeach.gov.

·        After 60 days, vehicle accident reports may be released to any individual or entity authorized to obtain such records.

 

To request a copy of a police report, please submit a request using one of the following options:

 

·        Submitting a JustFOIA request by selecting the 'Police Public Records Request' button at the bottom of this page is highly encouraged, as it is monitored by multiple staff members and typically results in a faster response time. 

·        Submitting an e-mailed to Records@satellitebeach.gov

·        Mail-in requests must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to avoid additional processing fees.

·        Call 321-773-4400 and leave a voicemail with all pertinent information

·        Walk-In Lobby Requests – Lobby requests will not be completed same day.

·        All requests will be completed in the order they are received regardless of how the request is made.

 

Requests that require an extensive amount of administrative or clerical time may be subject to additional fees. The first 15 minutes of research and duplication time are provided at no charge. Thereafter, labor fees will be assessed based on the hourly rate, including benefits, of the employee performing the work.
